Many supervisors do not come to the job with leadership competencies which are sufficient for supervising people. Both new and seasoned supervisors need more and better development in basic leadership skills, particularly people management skills. Assessment of their leadership strengths and areas for growth is also important, along with the opportunity to pursue training that is tailored to their individual needs. All these factors are addressed by the Supervisor Academy Certification Program.
Supervisor Academy integrates a number of learning strategies that meet the needs of adult learners with varying learning styles. For example, a key aspect of the program is individualized self-development opportunity. The development of knowledge and skills is accomplished through education, experiences, feedback, and relationship building.
